Christian Aid: Peace
They say an eye for an eye makes the whole world blind…
But how often do You stop to be kind…
or loving enough to consider someone outside your world?
Out of sight, out of mind?
Like the natural disasters, the famine and war?
Called to be peacemakers yet
we allow peace to grow weary right next door
We so easily mute the tears of that child so sculpted by grief
So consumed by what falls only under our sky
..boxed into me, myself and pride
Remote and controlled by I TV
Like when we forget to forgive like
We aren’t living under forgiveness
Like when we refrain from giving, like we aren’t beneficiaries of God’s goodness
But were the wounds to His flesh
I said the, flesh torn pieces
Not enough for us to hold our peace?
Not enough for two to take a piece out of the book of Love, to
Remember the point of His peace purposed blood
We forget our actions nail him back to that cold cross
Was his pierced body not enough for us to mend the shattered pieces of our own egos
We so quickly forget that the war of wars was won by the real hero
With a promise to be Near to those who sorrow
& to Save those whose hope has ceased
Let’s live for Love today, for a better tomorrow
Remember Side by side is when we withstand defeat
So Take hold of this life and the Light placed inside, give ear to the broken
Let us swallow our pride
& passionately pursue peace

Tetelestai (It is finished)
Our sin
Paid by His blood
Sealed by his love
Unworthy but under His mercy
His grace
The precious lamb took my place
Took my stripes
Took my flaws
And opened the door so that we can walk in
Sacrificial love
Cup of suffering
The atonement for sin
Death could not hold him
Victory belongs to Him
The veil is torn and open,
Our freedom is won,
Our chains are broken
eternal life begun
Resurrected son,
No equal, he has no rival
Rejected stone now with chief cornerstone title
& Now We see The power of the cross
We hear The echoes of the empty grave
Because The sinless, took on our sin, to remove sin
And since that final breath that he gave, our life begun
the battle is won
So Forever we will cry,
Jesus is alive, It is finished,

Me too.
They say God makes a test a testimony.
But can it still be called a testimony if it’s not shared? If it’s not heard? If it’s not made clear?
What if you’re afraid. What if you’re seen as too human rather than superchristian. Too weak, unholy, too easily tempted.
Well here’s the gospel truth. I have struggled too. I have gone through trials too. I have doubted too. But I still get up.
Staying depressed? Jesus didn’t die for that.
Accepting defeat? Jesus didn’t die for…
Finding security in your insecurity? Jesus just didn’t.
The bible says that we overcome by the blood of the lamb and by the WORD.
By our words, by our testimony.
By passing those tests.
So SPEAK out. Even when it’s awkward. Even when we’re scarred and still healing and it seems forward.
For trials build character. And Character building is Christ’ forte.
So Speak. My struggles may not be your struggles but if we face struggles together then sure enough we won’t be struggling forever.
Shorter falls and stronger heights.
For God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of might. His power within us. His blood that covers us. His covenant made to us. So stay high.
I rise because he rose and so will you.
You see, my scars are healing because his flesh deep stripes were real and now he’s alive.
So if you think I’m immune, I’m not. But it’s not so much the fall but how you get up that counts. It took Jesus 3 days. How long will you allow?
I am a testimony because I, by God’s grace, have overcome a test. & that shaped me into the best me yet.
& Yes, people can judge, people may boo, but sharing a problem halves the problem and so if you’re willing to be an ambassador of healing then
Me too.
Happy New Year!

Premature Love
Don’t awaken love before it’s time
Don’t snatch a heart before it’s prime, before it’s right
Sweetly poisoned by the love songs you fall asleep to at night
Seeking the Light…
But merely hoping that this new guy becomes Mr “Right”
Instead of praying you search the profiles persistent to find the one.
Lamp shade, dimmed hope, seeking warmth from everything but the Son..
…rays, smith and toms you rate yourself low, weigh your worth, paint on a smile, still picture, your beauty is fleeting.
Pieces of your Soul stay tied to every random, time wasting, godless guy
you date.
But you don’t understand that recreation can never recreate what God intended for man and his wife.
Unity, purpose, monogamy, wholeness… to love with ALL of ones life.
Jesus took a knife to his will
A whip to his flesh, in the name of purpose
In the name of love
Mission from above
Yet we start howling and abusing at a mere cuss!?
So we put up the fence of offence in our relationships in the defence of pride
But were the holes in his sides all vein? Blood stained, thorn crowned mane, took OUR blame so relationships can withstand.
Torn curtain so we can truly love and be loved again…
But don’t awaken love before it’s time;
For time is God’s currency.
Love is God’s language,
So we must live in God’s culture, in order to translate.

Void
It lingers
Lonely but not alone
Hollow
But not broken
Broke
But not in pieces
The thoughts keep teasing
Me
Without You is like
A dog without a bone?
But remember, alone but not lonely
Convos breed memories, so I
Walk down the lane
Emotions pulling at my brain
Thoughts swelling as your name
Remains
But tangibility changes, it fades
Cos you’re gone…
Lonely but not alone
…But I’ll never leave or forsake you
Through the valley of shadows
I will comfort You
I will fight for you
I never change
So lean on ME when you’re not strong
I’ll fill you when you’re drained
I’ll heal you when you’re stained
I’ll take away the pain
‘Cos I AM. ‘Cos I can.
You’re lonely
…But you’re never alone.

Sacrificial Love: The love that didn’t die with death
What is love really?
An expression? An emotion?
Like a gift that can be opened?
Love is something that’s cute…
And within that there’s some truth
But to me,
The fact that God can be spelt
L.O.V.E
Has opened up my mind to what love can truly be, see…
It’s a love that February 14th
Can’t quite comprehend
Because this type of relationship couldn’t just mend with an
“I love you” if things were tough
Because NOTHING we do could ever be enough,
Unless we ourselves had hung on that Calvary cross
But NO
Jesus already did that for us
When he was whipped, mocked and spat at
Yet he barely even tossed, you see…
Sacrificial love had to come at a cost
So then, If not for His grace
Where would we be?
Merely alive but not living,
Broken and still sinning
We could never win… In fact,
If it wasn’t for the blood
That was shed on the cross,
This sacrificial love for us,
Our living would prove a loss
Everything ‘meaningful’ into
Nothingness.
But hallelujah
Glory be
To our Lord that hung on the tree
Not just for me, he or she
But for plural WE
He showed a love that literally
Bled
Purity
He died for us all,
Came and conquered,
Jesus took that fall,
With our sins, our shame our mistakes and He
Wiped every inch away and
Ruled them out of the game
Yet… He wasn’t playing
Now our canvas is clean,
Without a stain
All we have to do is have faith
To obtain this sacrificial love
This new beginning
Because by His stripes we are healed
Past, present and future tense
His love will not change
So you see He loved us first
But now we’re a team,
If we only look within then
We’ll lose the steam
But for Jesus
It may seem obscene
But to go farther, to reach the furthest, the finish line, the goal…
We must look up
We will not strike our foot,
And He will fill our cup
Why choose luck when you can lean on the Rock of salvation?
The Saviour of the nation,
The God of all creation,
We are forgiven because He was forsaken
That is Sacrificial Love.
That is the love that will always be patient, and kind
And all the other things that will probably
Blow your mind
A love that slid into history like a glove
The symbol of love
A love that silently screamed salvation
…Yes, you may say you’ve heard this all before
But love,
Do we really give it enough appreciation?
Think about it,
The curtain was opaque
But because of the weight that He bore,
It split into a thousand beams of beautiful rays and
Now we are lights reflecting Jesus’ love
Because we are SAVED,
we are FREED, and
I’ll forever stand amazed
At what my God did for me,
I said we are SAFE, we are FREE,
I will FOREVER stand amazed
At what my God did for me
Summed up in verse 16 of John 3.
Sacrificial Love.

Why choose mediocrity?
Why choose mediocrity, when you can choose greater?
Why limit your abilities below the standards of our Creator?
Procrastinating; never now, always later.
Because nowadays not faith but fear is what we favour.
So we wait for society’s permission
Leading a life of submission, to the system, of fitting (in),
Suppressing the identity that God has given
Keeping your light just dim enough, in order to be hidden,
So you no longer shine too bright, right?
Or just low enough, to prevent it from obstructing someone else’s vision…
We display faith even smaller than that mustard seed.
But see, seeds grow…like potential.
So even when life looks soily & dim, water the talents that you have been given.
Because It’s OK to start small but stagnation is a no.
Yes, He is the vine and we are the branches, but there is still sufficient space to grow.
See, mediocrity, it’s like a bird that can fly but just won’t.
So instead of soaring, you’re sore about the achievements of every other person…
…But imagine how different things would be if you lived out what JESUS saw, the truth.
The sad thing is that most times it’s us youth.
Demographically we’re satisfied using any old excuse.
But imagine if young David did that and looked down at his abilities with aloof.
But no… He became greater than the greatest with one lethal shot at it;
Biblical proof.
So why choose mediocrity, when you can choose greater?
Step out, be bold and shine your light.
At least do yourself that favour.

Obedience is better than sacrifice
Scripture focus: Exodus 17:11-13 (Israelites vs Amalekites)
Whenever Moses held his hands up, the Israelites were winning.
This can signify consecration. Whenever we look to God in a situation rather than ourselves (Moses’ hands down) we will overcome that situation. If we look to our own abilities and external circumstances then we are sure to fail or not do it as well. Either way it won’t be perfectly in line with God’s will.
Also, the fact that he had to seek help to prop up his hands demonstrates that we should surround ourselves with like minded, loyal friends. People that we can trust to help us in difficult situations, people that will also point us to God.
Another perspective is that the task of Moses lifting his hands seemed trivial. Sometimes God will ask us to do things that seem odd or untimely, however trusting Him in the little things is so necessary. If Moses had not kept his hands up, the Israelites would have lost in battle. See, your actions/obedience may be the answer to another person’s prayer or simply character building.
God’s ways are higher than ours so I guess we’ll never fully be able to know or understand every ‘why’ in His decisions. However, rest assured that all things WILL work for the good of those who honour him (Romans 8:28). You have a hope and a future ahead (Jeremiah 29:11) so chin up… Or perhaps, hands up 😉

The omnipotent in weakness
Today’s verse for thought is: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: (Philippians 2:7 KJV)
The almighty, all powerful Son so humbly showed weakness, being publicly mocked and disgraced. In fact He became human just like us in order to see how we see, and experience what we do. He took off His crown for YOU. He was then shamed so that we no longer have to feel ashamed. That is the definition of true love! It makes you rethink the ‘difficulties’ we can have in showing common humility, right?
